The Women's side of things was a little wacky in Unionville, with a few teams missing and a few bye games having to be distributed. But, points are points and our competitors fought tooth and nail for them. One of our women's teams that has caught the eye of everyone involved, the Toronto Shock, looked to capitalize on this scenario. They handed their rivals the T.O. Rockets a 30 to 0 send off in the semi finals. Our other semis saw the qb-less Ottawa Roadrunner ladies squeak past the Toronto Wildcats in a low scoring 9 to 0 affair. The Shock turned up the tempo in the finals as they took advantage of the diluted Roadrunners, easily defeating them 28 to 7 to earn their second title of 2003. Congratulations ladies and good luck at the Provincials. Should be some great football in September with all of the women's teams partaking in the Labor Day classic.
