Close games and even match ups best describes
this division. With four games being decided by four points, you know
that the referees earned their paychecks. We’ll start our recap
with the quarter-finals.
Two of the best running quarterbacks
in the Nation squared off in our first one. Chad Byers of the Montreal
Water Buffalos and Youseff Nasser of the Ottawa Outlaws prepared to
do what they do best, give rushers nightmares. After a very high scoring
affair, The Ottawa Outlaws emerged victorious with a close 31 to 30
decision. Our other three quarter finals saw Montreal’s Energy
Cardio slip past the Ottawa Demons 14 to 13, The Mississauga Wolverines
beat the Toronto Force 14 to 6 and the Scarborough Raiders outmatched
the Montreal Tomahawks 36 to 0.
The Outlaws took on the Raiders in what
was another one point decision. Once again the Outlaws came out on the
positive end winning 23 to 22. The Wolverines, holding a two score lead
over Energy Cardio moved on to the championship game with a 22 to 13
victory.
The “B” championships gave
the Ottawa Outlaws their third consecutive one point game. This time,
however, it was their opponents who were on the celebrating end of this
one point decision. The Mississauga Wolverines were crowned as the Canadian
“B” Champions after their 21 to 20 victory over the Outlaws.
