I also wanted to finish the newsletter before this weekend, but I had to go to Calagary earlier in the week. The good news is that I was able to make a video blog of the city, capturing clips of the hotel and its surrounding area, as well as the fields. It`s a beautiful place, if not expensive, but there are deals to be had, which we`ll help you find. The host hotel rate will be $99 a room, so that`s a good start. I`ll have more info next week, until then, have a great Unionville tournament for those playing.

- Field D changed to Milliken Mills High School.Minor correction to Men's rankings causing a change to the TIER 2 draw. Southern Ontario Cobras (Now Pool G) and Kingston Vikings (now Pool F) switch positions. This affected the draw and game grid. This means they now switch playing locations as well - please confirm by reviewing the new schedule
- Please note that Fields A and B at Bill Crothers High School are artificial turf, so please bring proper footwear to match.

TOC, Early Bird & Brampton Newsletters
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the newsletters for the Tournament of Champions, Early Bird and Brampton/Mississauga are almost complete, however, I still wanted to release what`s actually available.I still have a write-up waiting to be edited from Brampton, and a few paragraphs from the TOC. All of the TOC footage was already available, but the Early Bird and Brampton clips are being uploaded right this second, with part 1 available now. I only have file size limitations on youtube, so many of the video parts are well over a half hour. You`ll also be able to find the uploaded videos on our youtube channel as they come in
I`ll link the videos before I leave for Kingston tonight, so at least we`ll have all of the video and picture footage from all three tournaments available. Thanks for your patience as I work through this backlog!

We`re missing a few scores, so if you can fill in a blank, or a correct an error, you can use the message boards link below, or you can email me by clicking here. We want to lend our deepest thanks to all of the teams that made the trek from various parts of the country to attend this event. We were treated to some stellar contests, with many requiring overtime converts to decide.Special congratulations goes to the Burlington Spartans for winning their fourth consecutive Canadian title over the team that made a lot of waves this year, the always dynamic Regina Megalomania. The Ottawa Devils deserve much praise for their third title in four years in the ultra competitive women`s division, where nothing was guaranteed.Congratulations to all champions, finalistis and competitors, the 2010 Tournament Of Champions was a great success because of you! We have tons of photos and video footage coming soon, so stay tuned!

Tournament Fields at Risk - 'No Bottle Policy'
It is becoming harder for our tournament organizers to obtain fields.
Even if they are able to secure fields, many organizers are finding
that their rental costs are increasing. Some of the causes for reduced
field availability and/or increased field costs are beyond our control.
However, there are some areas where we can self-police ourselves. One area relates to the significant use of glass bottles at tournament
fields. Glass bottles are being left at or around fields causing a litter
problem. Broken bottles have been found on the actual playing surface,
presenting a risk to all Touch Football Ontario participants. In addition,
broken glass being found on and around fields after our events can cause
us to lose fields. Expecting tournament volunteers to clean up the broken
glass and the litter is not acceptable. As such, Touch Football Ontario is implementing a “no
glass bottle” policy at all Trillium Tour Events, beginning in
2009.· Team Managers of all member teams will be
responsible to advise, control, and enforce this ‘no bottle’
policy with their own players. · Should any team be found breeching this policy, the Team
Manager[s] will be held responsible and will answer to, and
face sanctions from, the discipline committee.
While Touch Football Ontario adheres to a zero tolerance policy with
regards to alcohol consumption on Tournament Facilities other than in
designated areas, all participants are reminded that they are responsible
for their own litter and clean up.
