We were having trouble working with the high definition footage (1080i)
from our new camera. Our systems weren't equipped to handle the higher
quality, so we had to order a new one. When it arrives, we'll upload
the video asap (it was supposed to be here this past wednesday). We
did view some of the footage from the camera, and we can say that the
quality is outstanding. It will be worth the wait!

Trillium
Tour 2009 Updates
The
Trillium Tour online forms and information have been updated for 2009;
including locations (Provincials - Belleville / Nationals - Unionville)
and the entry fees. Check out the new dates and deadlines for registration.
Registration can be via the mail, throught the TFO
Online Store, or in person at the TFO Office.
New
- Frozen Roster Policy
All Trillium Tour teams would have their rosters frozen at the completion
of the 2008 Nationals. That being said any player on a team’s
roster would be considered on that team for the start of the next season.
If a player chooses to start the season with a different team, than
he would not be permitted to return to the team he played for in the
previous year.
The rational behind this is that in the last few years, numerous players
have been participating in the Early Bird Tournament with a different
team than they finished the season only because that team is not entered
in the Early Bird, then return later in the tour to their original team.
Example: Player X for the Team A plays for Team B in the Early
Bird because Team A has not entered. Player X than transfers back to
Team A once they start to compete on the tour.
Player X may transfer to any team other than Team
A for the duration of the 2009 Trillium Tour season
Tournament Fields at Risk - 'No Bottle Policy'
It is becoming harder for our tournament organizers to obtain fields.
Even if they are able to secure fields, many organizers are finding
that their rental costs are increasing. Some of the causes for reduced
field availability and/or increased field costs are beyond our control.
However, there are some areas where we can self-police ourselves.
One area relates to the significant use of glass bottles at tournament
fields. Glass bottles are being left at or around fields causing a litter
problem. Broken bottles have been found on the actual playing surface,
presenting a risk to all Touch Football Ontario participants. In addition,
broken glass being found on and around fields after our events can cause
us to lose fields. Expecting tournament volunteers to clean up the broken
glass and the litter is not acceptable.
As such, Touch Football Ontario is implementing a “no
glass bottle” policy at all Trillium Tour Events, beginning in
2009.
· Team Managers of all member teams will be
responsible to advise, control, and enforce this ‘no bottle’
policy with their own players.
· Should any team be found breeching this policy, the Team
Manager[s] will be held responsible and will answer to, and
face sanctions from, the discipline committee.
While Touch Football Ontario adheres to a zero tolerance policy with
regards to alcohol consumption on Tournament Facilities other than in
designated areas, all participants are reminded that they are responsible
for their own litter and clean up.

Team Takes Second U.S. National Title
