The Burlington Ravens added much flavor to the women’s
scene when they made their return to the Trillium Tour in 2005. Although
this talented team failed to compete for a title, they were always
a competitive force. Only two Tour stops into the 2006 campaign, however,
the Ravens not only competed for their first title, but they captured
one, and at the Elite level to boot. Let’s see who this talented
bunch had to face, beginning with the quarter-finals.

Another great story surrounding the women’s Elite belonged
to the Toronto Rockets. If the Piranha’s had the largest off-season
shuffle on the men’s side of things, the Rockets certainly
took the cake on the women’s end. After capturing their very
first elite Canadian championship at last years Tournament of Champions,
the Rockets lost their entire defensive core prior to this season.
Despite this seemingly insurmountable hurdle, the Rockets climbed
back into the Elite hunt at the Hamilton Bowl.
The big story of Hamilton, however, belonged to the Ravens. This
group posted a perfect 5 and 0 record, scoring an impressive 107
points combined to capture their first Elite title in some time.
Congratulations on your fine showing ladies, it was only a matter
of time!
