The Ottawa Nepean Canadians were the defending National and Provincal Champions heading into the 2005 Trillium Cup. The number one seed, however, belonged to the Burlington Spartans. The Toronto Shock have been building momentum ever since they swept through the competition back at the Ottawa stop.
