After losing a heartbreaking one-point decision to the Burlington Bulls in their round robin match-up, the Ottawa Outlaws found themselves battling in the BB division. This was fitting as the Outlaws were the Provincial finalists of this tier last year. As you’re probably aware, the Outlaws did in fact capture the crown, but their road to victory was anything but easy. Let’s see who they had to face beginning with the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals

Hamilton Raiders 14 vs London Hurricanes 12

Ottawa Knights 28 vs Burlington Fox 40 12

Ottawa Spartans 25 vs Toronto X-men 19

Ottawa Outlaws 14 vs Mississauga Axemen 0

Semifinals

Ottawa Outlaws 33 vs Hamilton Raiders 28

Ottawa Knights 28 vs Ottawa Spartans 14

The Outlaws had their hands full as they had to face the crafty Mississauga Axemen, the explosive Hamilton Raiders, and the always-dangerous Ottawa Knights. With only 6 points, semi and final match-ups combined, separating the Outlaws from defeat, it’s safe to say that they had to earn their Provincial title. Their biggest challenge came from their hometown rival Knights. Although the Knights play in a higher tier in the ONTFL, they had many difficulties defending the big arm and scrambling capabilities of qb Yousef Nassar.

After merging with the Ottawa Demons in the off-season, it was evident after their impressive Trillium Cup performance that their meshing is pretty much complete. Congratulations on a fine showing gentlemen!
