Despite buckets of sporadic rainfall, Unionville was a fine final Tour stop destination, thanks in large part to the warm weather and delicious BBQ snacks at the HQ.
The Ottawa Capitals made the largest splash, however, as they defeated their long time nemesis Burlington Spartans in a defensive oriented 15 to 14 semi-final result. They advanced to rematch the Toronto Trojans in the finals, who they defeated at the previous stop in a memorable finish. The Capitals got out to an early three score lead in this one, and while the Trojans made a valiant late effort, they couldn’t close the deficit. With this win, the Capitals earned consecutive elite titles, and a return to the top of the standings.
