Kingston has always been
the most popular stop on the tour. 2004 proved to be the most popular
one yet. 78 teams (58 men’s, 20 women’s) slipped into the
city looking for competition, and the famous K-town nightlife. The strong
organization put forth by Tournament Chair Don Platt and his trusty
volunteer subjects, saw to it that teams were given their competitive
fix in a very professional fashion. As for the nightlife thirst, Don
Platt didn’t need to do anything other then guide visiting players
to the core of Princess Street. A handful of great clubs, all within
staggering distance of each other, were more (as always) then accommodating
enough to quench the thirst of party seeking footballcoholics.

Though no tournament is
without its faults, no one can fault the effort that our organization
committee puts forth. K-town tested everyone involved to the limit.
With our largest draw ever, ensuring that every field was taken care
of proved awfully difficult. Despite a few glitches in the system, the
2004 Kingston tour stop couldn’t be considered anything other
then the overwhelming success that it was. I’d personally like
to thank Adel Mahfouz, Wayne Lahie and Bryan Hughes for their tireless
efforts at the fields. Whether it’s taking pictures, dishing out
trophies, or ensuring that my father has his sunscreen on, these three
men can’t be thanked enough, THANK YOU!!! Of course, our organizing
committee can never get enough propps for their contributions. So Don
Platt, Don Gerry, Russ Henderson, Sean Monaghan and the rest of our
priceless committee members, thank you so much!
