Limestone Tournament
Thanks to all that attended and participated in the 2003 Limestone Touch Football Tournament. Without the support of you, the participants, making the trip and supporting the event, the put effort put in by the organizers would be all for not. This year's event consisted of 69 teams (54 men & 15 women). The tournament host hotel was the Ambassador and we trust everyone enjoyed his or her stay there, as usual. This hotel has been a long time supporter of touch football and what a tremendous way to thank them each year, by filling the place to capacity with teams from the east and west of our city. AJ's Hangar, Stages, Grizzly Grill and the Brass Pub all enjoyed a busy weekend, and as another long time tournament and league sponsor, your patronage was greatly appreciated. The LaSalle Secondary School Athletic council did another great job on the food at headquarters and the beer sales were far more brisk at $2.50 a pint. Live entertainment by Good Time Charlie on Saturday and Sunday afternoon added a little more excitement to the festivities. We hope as an organizing committee that every year the event continues to improve and perhaps only the ongoing battle we face to secure access to quality playing fields at reasonable prices is the challenge we face in the upcoming years. It is important to note that our commitment to this is by way of revenue generated by this event being donated in part to help an organization such as LaSalle find ways to improve their facility every year and thus assuring our access to host our event. In closing I would like to thank the other two pieces of our organizing committee, Alec Murray and Mike Plant. Without dedicated hard working people like them a tournament of this magnitude or perhaps none at all would simply be possible
