The West Park Jaguars looked to improve on their semi finals defeat in St Catharines. Sliding past the Sporthawks 13 to 6 in the Kingston semi's, they did just that. Making their Trillium Tour debut, the Ottawa Assassins looked to ensure that a semi final victory would be all that the Jaguars would have as improvement. The Assassins, despite a serious lack of sleep the night before (I know first hand cause I was out with these clowns) defeated the Toronto Cobras 25 to 19 to face the hungry WP Cats in the finals.

Seemingly operating on fumes (both teams no doubt), The Assassins overpowered the Jaguars, defeating them, 25 to 7. Congratulations to both teams for doing so well and with such small rosters! Assassins team manager Paule Ferdinand shared a few words with us, documenting his teams success in Kingston;

The Barbarians were a class act. Despite the many set- backs they had that morning. The Assassins won and went on to face the Outlaws.

With Yousef at the helm, and on his game, the Outlaws outplayed the Assassins 31 -13. Allowing the Outlaws to advance to play for the "C" championship and forcing the Assassins to play for the lower "DD" championship.

The Assassins went into the half with a comfortable lead against the Toronto Cobras. The Cobras did not take it lying down and returned with vengeance in the second half and put together some impressive drives. They put up unanswerable points to tie the game at 19 - 19. Finally, the Assassins scored late in the fourth quarter to pull off a 25 - 19 victory.

In the championship game, the Assassins' scored four times. The defence kept the Assassins in the game by challenging the West Park Jaguars offence. We felt it was a good game that could have been won or lost by either team. Fortunately, we were at the winning end. The Jags were another class act, who I'm sure we'll meet again...
