With local boys, AJ's Hangar, cruising through the playoff rounds, Kingston looked destined to capture a division title in The Limestone Classic. They had a Bigg Dogg from Chateauguay waiting for them in the finals however, looking to win a title of their own. In a hard fought final the boys north of the border defeated AJ's Hangar, 26 to 14, to capture the title. Bigg Dogg manger, Tony Lalla, shared a few words with us regarding his teams success in Kingston;

Hi Gordon,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you but here is a small write up.

This is our third year coming to Kingston touch tournament, probably our favorite tournament of the year. Every year we stay at the same motel (I'm surprised they let us back). Friday night we stay at the motel and drink in the parking lot. A couple of two-fours later we decide to call it a night, early morning games suck and we have a game at 8:30 and it's already 12:30 am.
The next morning is rough but we drag our lazy asses out of bed to have a small bite to eat and take off to the field. We played the Mississauga Wolverines, the momentum went back and forth like floppy donkey tits but we ended up losing 33-27. It was intense with guys exchanging a few comments, I think a good rivalry has just begun. Anyways we had a long time to think about that game because we didn't play again until 3:45 pm. Our next opponents were the TO Cobras, which came into the tournament ranked higher than us so we knew that we had to play well. Defensively we played well enough to win the game but our offence just couldn't put the ball in. Much quieter game than the earlier one, because these guys were not a bunch of cry babies every time you tagged them. TO 28 Bigg Dogg 23.
After a big world cup soccer tournament back at the motel we had a hard night of drinking ahead of us at AJ's Hanger. We got back to the motel at 4:00am and ate some pizza that "Richard" had made. It was great!
Same morning it was off to the field for an 8:30 start against the Ottawa Hitmen. A good game with the defense coming up big for both teams. The final score was 21-14 in our favour. Stayed at the same field for our next game which was good so we could catch a few z's. Next up the Oshawa Bucs, excelent game much intensity by both teams, a fun game to play in and even to watch. Not very defensive game with a few dropped balls by both teams and an outcome in Bigg Dogg's favour again, 27-19. After the game we packed up and headed to the cars when we ran into our "friends" the Miss. Wolverines. Talked a bit of trash nothing happened so we proceeded to our next game in the DD final against the home town hero's, Kingston AJ Hangers. We came out strong in the first half with the offence scoring 22 points, defense kept them to a goose egg. After half time the Hangers turned it around and gave us a scare by scoring 14 points in the third quarter. Going into the fourth we had a team huddle and said there is no way we are losing this game after playing two already today. We ended up scoring one more TD and shutting the door on defense and coming away with the DD championship.
We enjoy this tournament a lot not just because of the drinking but the competition is very good with high caliber teams. See you next year.

Thanks for the words Tony and congratulations to you and your teammates. Hope to see you guys in Ottawa! Please see pictures of the Champions and Finalists. Click on their images to have them enlarged.
