With the Mississauga Wolverines, the Ottawa Demons, The Ottawa Outlaws, and the always unpredictable Ottawa Valiquette Alouettes, not to mention the up surging Ottawa Phoenix, The Men's "C" division, Kingston Chapter, was up for grabs.

Our Semi Finals saw two winners emerge, both with one point victories. The Outlaws squeaked past The Wolverines 27 to 26, while the Demons slipped past the Phoenix 22 to 21.

Though the Championship game was close at the half, much to the dismay of the Demons, the end result wasn't. The Outlaws opened up their offensive capabilities, defeating the Demons 26 to 12. Congratulations Gentlemen!! Assistant GM of the Outlaws, Bruce Macintosh, shared a few words with us regarding his teams Kingston adventure;

The Ottawa Outlaws Kingston experience began like most tournaments begin. A frantic watching of watches, nervously pacing the sidelines prior to kick off as those late stragglers finally arrive to allow you to field a complete team. Once this was accomplished, the Outlaws went on a tear in three straight games, the offence cutting through opposing defences like a scythe, the defence stonewalling the opposition.

The combined score vs the Toronto Horde, Ottawa Assassins and Ottawa Mudpigs was 108-19.

The semi-final on Sunday was a different story. Heat, fatigue and injuries began to take a toll. Only a 75 yard kickoff return to set up the go ahead score and a last minute interception, both by #2 Frankie Ciliberto in a huge clutch performance, clinched a 26-25 victory over a stubborn opponent from Sarsville...ERRRRR...Toronto.

Then, anti-climax. The Outlaws had to endure a long 3 hour + layoff between the semi-final and the final vs the Ottawa Demons. The Outlaws began the final rather sleepily, falling behind the Demon's 12-0. #29 Yousef "Dickerson" Nassar finally threw his first INT in 5 games and the Demon's capitalized. The Outlaws came back and had 4 cracks from the 3 yard line thanks to a Demon penalty for ripping the sleeve off the jersey of #84 Bruce "Sharpe" Macintosh, but, still couldn't put any points on the board. Finally, a light at the end of the tunnel emerged in the form of a clutch interception by # 7 Adam Prentice. With seconds before halftime, QB Nassar hit #69 Merv Whyte on a 55+ yard TD strike down the left sidelines. The Outlaws got the convert and trailed by only 4. The Outlaws defense came out in the second half, and combined with some nervous hands, shut down Ron Schnell's Demon offence, and the Outlaws offence revved into high gear with #24 Nick Henderson catching 2 second half TD's. The Outlaws never looked back and coasted home with a 26-12 victory and the Kingston championship trophy and winnings. #24 Nick Henderson was named Outlaw MVP of the final.
