Ottawa Hosts The Tournament Of Champions

Men's Tier Three: Something to smile about

Four teams drop from tier 2 to add some flavor to the quarter finals of the 3rd. The Mississauga Axemen take a 25 to 16 victory over the Montreal Moonshine. The Toronto Force hand a 27 to 18 defeat to the Montreal Wildcats. The Hamilton Raiders fail to score any points as the Ottawa Knights advance with a 6 to 0 win. The Toronto Trojans, who were ranked 1st in tier two, take their frustrations out on the Ottawa Demons in a close 27 to 20 game.

4 teams, 2 games, 2 winners. Yes, it's the semi finals. Two tier two teams, the Trojans and the Axemen, face off in our first match up. The Axemen can't chop down Toronto's Trojan Horse, as they fall prey to a 22 to 6 defeat. The Ottawa Knights and The Toronto Force square off in the second installment of these semi finals. Toronto wills their Force into 22 to 12 victory.

Toronto is well represented as two teams from the greater area take center stage. The Force put up a valiant effort, but their horses weren't able to keep stride with this Trojan. The Trojans offer a 23 to 6 defeat, capturing the men's tier 3 National Championship. In a season that looked to begin with plenty of promise, the Trojans were hit with much circumstance. This National Title should give them something to smile about. Congratulations gentlemen. Look for bigger and better things from these guys in 2003.
