Ottawa Hosts The Tournament Of Champions Men's Tier Four: Clash Of The Titans We begin our look at tier four with the quarter finals. Four teams drop down from tier three and the first to appear of those are The Mississauga Jaguars. They hand Almonte 2m a 38 to 6 shellacking. The Toronto Titans squeak past the Ottawa Phoenix 21 to 18. The Montreal Heenan Blaikie show St Catherine's Cowboys that tier four isn't a cake walk as they win 24 to 8. The Ottawa Valiquette Alouettes then faced off against Chris Wakefield and his depleted Ottawa Hitmen. For 37 years the Alouettes have been in existence, and for 37 years they have been led by MR. Football himself, QB Paul (Pappi) Lanthier. Showing that his ageless self still has a few td passes left in him, Pappi leads his team to a 26 to 6 decision. Monday morning brings a brand new day, as well as four more semi final match ups. The Allouettes draw first blood as they defeat the Jaguars 20 to 6. The Toronto Titans answer the call as they give Montreal a 28 to 16 send off. In a match up billed as "Titans vs. a Titan", and with the National Title on the line, the stakes for game six couldn't be higher. The Titans and Valiquettes take to field in what turns out to be a defensive battle. The score going into the fourth is deadlocked at 6. The Titans then break the tie with a touchdown. It is followed by another. After failing to convert on red zone opportunities of their own, the Allouettes witness their chances for gold evaporate, as Toronto takes this game 18 to 6. Congratulations T.O., the 2002 men's tier four champions.
