The Greater Toronto Area
was well represented in the women’s “B” division.
Talented teams like the Lancers, Crew, Raiders and Wildcats (to name
a few) have all experienced success on the tour. One lonely squad from
Ottawa (Fury) would be left to fend for their city from the quarter
finals and on….
Lead by their highly gifted game breaker,
Tara Lindo, the Wildcats would sweep their way to the finals where they
would square off against the relative newcomers from the Capital (Fury).
Defense played a huge role for the Wildcats to this point, and defense
would continue to do so in the finals. Though the Wildcats offense would
sputter, their two defensive touchdowns would be enough to crown them
Women’s “B” champions at the Early Bird. Congratulations
Wildcats! We should offer congratulations to both teams, and not just
for making it to the finals. Both teams were faced with some horrible
conditions leading up to, and during the finals. Way to suck it up for
the team ladies!!
