After dominating the Fleur De Lys to capture their fist elite Canadian title at last year’s Tournament of Champions, the Shock dropped a low scoring championship result to their Montreal counterparts at the 2007 season opener.

The Shock would bounce back offensively at the Hamilton Bowl, posting three straight wins over Saturday’s contests, scoring 80 points without allowing a single point against. The Shock cruised to semi-final competition.

Preliminaries

Toronto Shock 21 vs Hamilton Bengals 0

Toronto Rebels 22 vs Montreal Les Geants 0

Toronto Wildcats 20 vs Toronto Landell Lightning 0

Toronto Rockets 18 vs Toronto Ravens 14

The Shock’s offensive output over semi-final and championship matches would drop significantly. Having to face highly experienced squads in the Rockets and the Rebels, a drop in any statistical category is quite understandable. Thankfully, from the Shock’s perspective, their stingy defense would experience only a minor slip in productivity, if you consider allowing only two touchdowns against in an entire tournament a “slip.”

The Shock would go on to defeat the Rockets and Rebels to not only win the Hamilton Bowl, but to climb into a first place point-tie with the Fleur De Lys, though with their EB loss to them, the Shock sit in the second spot. Congratulations on yet another fine showing ladies!
