With round-robin points for and against not in Landell’s favour, the Lightning dropped to the “A” side, where their fortunes would drastically change. Their offense came alive, posting one 22 combined points in only 4 games. While the Lightning would capture the “A” title, and score handfuls of points en route in doing so, they faced some stiff competition, with the stiffest coming from what many might have considered an unlikely source in the Mississauga Enforcers.

The Mississauga Enforcers gave the Lightning all they could handle in their championship meeting. While the Enforcers have displayed mixed results over the last couple of seasons, they were always a competitive force when fielding a full roster. Throughout the early portions of their 2007 campaign, the Enforcers carried a healthy bench, no doubt contributing to their  impressive results. After two Tour stops, the Enforcers earned a “BB” title, and a birth in the “A” semi-finals.

The Enforcers continued to impress in Kingston. After their flawless round-robin matches, the Enforcers would string together more notable victories. They knocked off three elite ranked teams (Hogs, Hellcats, and Argos) before facing off against the Landell in the finals.

The Lightning and Enforcers played a very entertaining 34 to 30 result. While Landell took the title, and bolstered their ranking, the Enforcers made it clear to everyone on the Tour that they can compete with any squad. Congratulations to both teams for their excellent Kingston showing!
